Professor Edmund Chuk has eyed in SOE developments in Sri Lanka way back in year 2006 and finally a breakthrough has come in recently.
SOE has chosen Horizon Campus, a well-established university in Sri Lanka as their local partner.
The event was held at Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall in Colombo on 4th August 2018. The event was officiated by Hon. State Minister of Power and Renewable Energy Mr. Ajith P Perera and Secretary of Ministry of Science, Technology and Research Mrs. Sandhya Wijayabandara to bring the event to national scale under the coordination of Dr. Shanaka. Also, all the Heads and Deputies of Engineering Schools belonged to Sri Lanka government has taken part in this event to witness this Historical event.
SOE is expected to recruit over 1000 members in a short period of time and this number is further expected to double in the near future making inroads to all corners of Sri Lanka.
This event has also paved the way for the official commencement of Asia Pacific Region of SOE and will also encompass SOE Sri Lanka Region when it is established.
All members have an obligation to undertake CPD throughout their chosen career as a means of maintaining current competencies in the ever evolving field of Operations Engineering. Importantly, for Engineering Council Registrants this obligation underpins the value of the professional titles of Engineering Technician (EngTech), Incorporated Engineer (IEng) and Chartered Engineer (CEng).
